We sincerely care about your well-being. In today’s busy world the words Hustle, Bustle and Grind are all too familiar.  The average person spends most of their time in these 3 zones forgetting about the One Person who needs the most attention and care…. Self!  Probably more often than not; our time is directed to our careers, family and loved ones resulting in putting ourselves on the back end of the “To Do List”.

A Certified Yoga Instructor since 2015, Ayurvedic Holistic Practitioner since 2017 and Massage Therapist since 2019. When people ask how The Yoga Broad came to be? the answer is easy... - It was something that just made since; after being a patient advocate an aid to my dad for many years, my purpose was being laid out in front of me course after course and The Yoga Broad took life. I’m a passionate healer with an alternative approach and am dedicated to helping my clients move through a wide range of physical, emotional and spiritual transitions in the most efficient and transformative way possible. As part of my practice and philosophy, I strive to both educate and heal my clients, empowering them to live better and healthier lives. My approach is a combination of both eastern and western methods. Treatments are specifically tailored to the needs of each client to make sure they receive the approach that works best for them. I am always looking to integrate new treatments and therapies into my practice and believe that continued learning is important for any good Holistic Therapist. Etiology of Ayurveda? Ayu = Life   Veda = Knowledge/Science.

 By definition Ayurveda is the science that imparts knowledge of life. The aim of Ayurveda is to Protect health and prolong life (Swasthyas swasthya rakshanam) and to Eliminate diseases and dysfunctions of the body (Aturasya vikaraprahamanancha) when warranted; to return the body to a normal balance.  In Ayurveda there are certain principles that are not only the foundation but also the governing factors in which we use to treat an individual.  As you will see listed below Ayurveda looks at the whole body; not only on a physical level but much more in depth versus Western medicine a lot of times if not the majority of times is treating symptoms and not the individual. 

Basic Principles:

  • Panchamahabootas:

    (5 Elements) Space, Air, Fire, Water, Earth; all inanimate and living creatures are composed of variations and combinations of these elements.

  • Doshas

    : Vata = Air/Space, Pitta = Fire/Water, Kapha = Water/Earth; 3 energies that govern the body. Health is maintained by these energies being balanced.

  • Constitution:

    Primarily genetic in origin

    and Prakriti

    : is formed in the womb during conception based off of both participants; including their diet and lifestyle leading up to conception.  An individual’s Prakriti is essentially their own.  By using an intake form which looks at Build, Eye Shape, Skin texture, Nails, Eating Habits, Sleep patterns, Memory recall to name just a few; a person’s individual Prakriti is known i.e. Vata/Pitta with Vata being dominant Dosha.

    (Please note this is just a small description on what is looked at as well, as taking into consideration when treating someone with an imbalance).
